  • Alley, Ghost, and Eighty Cents is based on a specific place, to discover how the idea of time, space, and memory are weaved together in generarion’s experience.

  • The project starts with an empty envelope with a receiving and a returning address of a same place. The sending address was the place name in 1950s, “4, Fanshen street” , while it renamed since the 90s till today, which is “142, 1-11, South Binjiang Road”, as the returning address.

  • An ongoing project, more than a hundred numbers of envelops have been sent out. The project will end until post office return an envelop with a return stamp.

  • This series of sculptures is cast directly from street surfaces, specifically from cement pavement marked by human and animal traces. These casts capture evidence of accidental disruptions and disobedience that occurred before the cement could dry. By solidifying these transient marks, the work reflects on the rigid nature of urban infrastructure, which is built to enforce order and control movement. The embedded tracks and footprints disrupt the intended perfection of the pavement, visualizing moments where living bodies push back against the standardized grid of the city.
